THE ALAN DUGDALE  STORY
Alan did the fastest ever push start TT I.O.M. course lap in the 1990 MGP Classic TT 22 minuets 13 seconds 101-85 mph on the USA team obsolete G50 Matchless with a standard frame and drum brakes not disc brakes. This is the quickest lap ever by any rider on a Manx Norton Matchless G50 and MV500cc four cylinder works riders.

This lap was quicker than all the following riders.
1959  John Surtees   MV500 4 cylinder 1st lap push start  22mins-38secs.
1964  Mike Hailwood   MV500 4 cylinder 1st lap push start  22mins-17secs
1959  John Hartle   MV500 4 cylinder 1st lap push start  22mins-48secs
1960  Mike Hailwood Manx Norton 4 cylinder 1st lap push start 22mins-52secs
1965  Joe Dumphy  Manx Norton 4 cylinder 1st lap push start 22mins-29secs
1966  Criss Conn  Manx Norton 4 cylinder 1st lap push start 23mins-46secs
1969  Alan Barnett  Matchless G50 1st lap push start  22mins-54secs
1970  Peter Williams Matchless G50 1st lap push start  22mins-53secs
1973  Peter Williams Matchless G50 1st lap push start  22mins-15secs
1976  D Hughes  Matchless G50 1st lap push start  23mins-42secs
1977  Malecm Lyeus Matchless G50 1st lap push start  24mins-37secs

So a lap Alan did in 22mins-13secs, of which he is very proud and will stand for ever because the last push starts were in 1991. They have been engine running since.

Alan did TT course fastest laps in the following races.
1986 500cc MGP Classic TT on Ray Cowles G50, Alan won the race with new fastest lap and new course records.
1989 250cc MGP on Syd Lawtons Aermacchi, fastest lap.
1990 500cc MGP Classic TT team Obslite G50 Matchless, fastest lap and fastest ever push start lap.
